Keyword Difficulty Checker
Estimate how hard it will be to rank for any keyword.
What does keyword difficulty measure?
It estimates how hard it will be to rank on the first page of Google for a given keyword. The score considers competing brand strength, content saturation, commercial intent, and topic complexity. A high score means major sites already own the term, a low score means there is room for newer content to rank.
Why estimate difficulty before targeting?
You can save weeks of work by skipping keywords your site cannot realistically rank for yet. Targeting easier keywords first builds authority, which then unlocks the harder ones. This is how smart SEOs grow new sites without burning effort on impossible terms.
How do you read the score?
- Below thirty: easy, even new sites can rank with quality content.
- Thirty to fifty: medium, established sites with solid backlinks can rank.
- Fifty to seventy: hard, expect sustained content and link building.
- Above seventy: very hard, dominated by major brands and authority sites.
When is the AI estimate enough?
For early stage research it gives you a usable signal. For final targeting decisions cross check with at least one paid difficulty score from Ahrefs, Semrush, or Moz to confirm.
