Domain Age Checker
Find out how old a domain is from its registration date.
What does domain age mean for SEO?
Domain age is the time since the domain was first registered. Older domains are not automatically better, but they often have built up backlinks, history, and trust signals that newer domains lack. Many SEOs treat domain age as one signal among many when buying or auditing a site.
Why does this number matter?
If you are buying a domain on a marketplace, age helps you judge its authority potential. If you are auditing a competitor, age shows whether their rankings come from years of work or recent effort. New brands shipping fresh domains can still rank fast with strong content and links, age is just context.
How does this tool calculate age?
- You enter a domain.
- The tool reads the WHOIS Creation Date for that domain.
- It compares with today and shows the age in years, plus the expiry date.
When is age misleading?
A domain that was registered in 2002 but only became active in 2022 will show as twenty plus years old, but its real SEO age is two. Always confirm with the Wayback Machine to see when content first appeared.
